Radisson Hotel Schaumburg ORD - O'Hare International Airport

The hotel was fine. It was clean and all we needed for our pre-travel stay. There seemed to be a lot of hotel owner family members hanging around the property. That effected the professional demeanor of the hotel.

Hotel is very basic. We had two different rooms, one dated and didn't feel well cleaned, one looked like it was renovated yesterday and not complete. Examples: a missing light fixture with exposed wires in bathroom, grout haze on tile and pencil notes on tile from installers. There was not a single place to hang any towel-no hook or bar, no ledge for soaps in shower. No coffee condiments in one room. Website says breakfast, which meant a $5 gift card to McDonalds for four people. Airport shuttle apparently only picks up at :30 after hour, which we missed by 5 mins due to baggage delay, in spite of repeated conversations with hotel desk saying they would tell the driver we're ready and he'd come soon. It's not every 30 minutes- it's on the :30. I didn't feel this was made clear upfront. We waited the whole hour outside (after two hours of customs and baggage delays). The wait would have been more tolerable if we'd been told honestly it would be that long. My child laid on the median outside the airport and fell asleep because we couldn't move from that spot, not knowing when the driver would come.

The hotel lobby was clean and the staff was friendly. However, breakfast was advertised but not offered (we had to ask for vouchers, which we were eventually given for McDonald's, which required driving). The pool was closed by the health department, which was another reason we had booked this particular hotel (we have two kids). The toilet also backed up almost immediately (and we heard other guests with this problem as well). There is also no functioning restaurant on site as advertised. The airport shuttle did work out ok but felt a little unorganized and took quite a long time to pick us up afterward. The hotel served our park and fly purpose but definitely would have chosen another had we known about the breakfast and pool.

Repeatedly called hotel for airport pickup. No answer for more than an hour, just transferred to non-responsive operator line. Terrible experience.

The staff is very helpful and friendly

Accommodating staff. We had to delay our return a day due to airline flight/staffing problems. Staff were quick to accommodate. Hotel feels a bit old. Sound travels through walls and under doors. Shuttle service was as expected in terms of timeliness. Shuttle itself was quite old and did not feel safe to be driven at the high speeds driven (up to 80 mph). Parking is in the hotel parking lot, no different than if you are a guest at the hotel.

We stayed the night before a 6 AM flight and to park our car for our vacation. The rooms were not very clean, and in the morning our shuttle driver was 10 minutes late. It was also a good 25 minute drive to O'Hare. The shuttle van looked, and felt, like it was going to fall apart at any second, and it smelled terrible. When we returned from our trip, we were supposed to be picked up at 11:30 p.m. We were out waiting at the location at 11:35 and there was no shuttle there. I called the hotel and they said they had been trying to contact me but said it went straight to voicemail. They left me no voicemail, and I had no missed calls in my history. Finally after 30 minutes the shuttle showed up.

The front end stay and delivery at the airport were fine; the back end pick up and return to the car was slow, and we were exhausted at the time so I wasn't happy. But I suppose I could have stayed closer to O'Hare

Super! We realized after we left the hotel that we had left a phone behind…and they did everything possible to retrieve it and we got it back

The hotel was in a safe neighborhood. Unfortunately, the hotel is in deep disrepair and I had only seen prior reviews from when it was in better shape (I also question the validity of many of the reviews). It was not a clean room or bathroom. There was no soap, even for hands. The lamp shade was crumbled. There was a commercial power strip for an outlet. The bedding was clean which is one reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1. The lobby was filthy. The “continental breakfast” was a paper bag with a juice box, apple and nutrigrain bar. Like other reviews over the past few months, they said the breakfast room is under construction but we saw it when a staff member walked in and it had tables, chairs and was definitely not under construction. The lobby was disjointed and filthy. The hotel was noisy at night. The room floor was gross. The shuttle was in really rough shape and completely FILTHY on the inside. Fortunately it was on time both when we needed to go to the airport and when we returned. The driver was very friendly on the return drive which is another reason I will give 2 stars instead of 1. I really would not recommend this stay to anyone. Pay a little more and stay somewhere better. This is a sad excuse of a Radisson hotel.

Things that I didn't like- 1) someone tried to come into my room at night (had a key card, but I had placed the door jam on so they couldnt come in), 2) even though I signed up with my information about my return flight and time needed for the shuttle, I didn't get an email confirming that information (and I traveled out of the country and didn't have phone service, so I couldn't call to check on it until I was back in the states earlier in the day of my needed shuttle), 3) they only shuttle every hour so I had to get to the airport earlier than I would have liked and had to wait 30 min for my return shuttle.

Absolutely horrible! The hotel is at best 1 star- no breakfast as advertised; worn linens; worn furniture, dirty carpet, etc.. we had a res for noon to go to the airport. No one was at the front desk for almost 30". We had to ask a maintenance worker if he knew where the front desk person or driver were. There were other people waiting to check in. He called someone and said the front desk clerk was upstairs and would be down in 10". He arrived and said the driver was coming down. Now over 30" late departing. The shuttle is dangerous- dashboard says tire pressure warning and still did so two weeks later When we returned. The step into the van is broken making entry difficult. . The van is absolutely filthy. Empty bottles, trash, rags, papers, etc.. everywhere. Carpet has not been cleaned in years. Seats are so dirty, you don't want to sit on them. The van rides horrible- vibrates like crazy when driving at high speeds, rusted out body in multiple areas, windows so dirty you can't see out them. A horrible experience. You should check out your suppliers better. This hotel advertises things they don't Provide (breakfast), has horrible service , Provides a dangerous vehicle, and seriously lacks cleanliness. NEVER AGAIN!

I am not too hard to impress with hotels, but this one was unfortunately a let down for the price. Complimentary Breakfast was “currently unavailable” due to renovations (still could put out some dry packaged food or muffins in the lobby), which was one of the main reasons we booked. It still says on the website that it is available so I don’t know how long they haven’t had it. Small rooms, big stains on the floors in the halls, bedside lamps don’t work, socket plates falling off the outlets, only shampoo given for the shower. If the rooms were nice, I never really mind a little wear and tear. Shuttle was unfortunately very dirty too, both for drop-off and pickup. Staff was very kind throughout, it just seems like management has fallen to the wayside. I wish I could leave a better review as other Choice hotels have been great, but now I am not sure I would book at one again.

Just a place to sleep. The bathroom and bedding were clean so we were able to get a comfortable shower and sleep after a long flight. The price was econimical for ParkSleepFly plans. Other than that, not so good. There was only one person at the front desk who was overworked and not friendly. The lobby is not clean. The entire hotel is dated and drab. No advance notice that there was no breakfast. The shuttle driver was friendly, but did not run on time to or from the hotel/ airport, and the van was filthy, rough riding and a dashboard light indicated a tire issue. Would hesitate to stay here again.

There must be a lot of fake reviews for this hotel to have a high rating. The biggest issue for me is that the owners must not care about guest safety. We went out one side door to get our luggage from the car. The door lock that uses your key card to let you in was broken. They added a regular door handle and so the door didn't lock. Anyone off the street could've just walked in. Also the smoke detector in our room was removed. We should've asked for a different room but it was late and all we wanted was to get a few hours of sleep before our early morning flight. In the end it functioned for what we needed, a place to park our car and a place to sleep a few hours. It wasn't anything more than that.

We booked this hotel as it said 24 hour transport. It changed to 8-3, and we weren't notified anywhere. We were stuck finding transport to and from, as well as paying for. All we got was parking outside, uncovered. There was no restaurant as listed. It was all very inconvenient and ridiculous.

The room was a little small and the breakfast was not very good

We appreciated the option to park and take a shuttle. Everything went as planned.

Hotel was a bit dated. Staff was friendly.
