Best Western Des Plaines Inn O'Hare - O'Hare International Airport

The hotel does NOT provide a shuttle service and forced us to leave our car keys with them. I would NEVER go to this hotel again.

The night desk person wasn't at the desk, then 15 min later she arrived through the front door with an arm full of groceries. It took another 15 minutes to find my reservation (it was on a piece of paper.... paper?), So check-in took half an hour! The back door was broken, and the pool was empty (looks like it's been empty for a very long time). This hotel is run down. A 3-star is being very generous. I was informed that there WAS NO SHUTTLE available for that hotel! This Des Plains Best Western has no shuttle service to anywhere. Please update your listing for this hotel, stating that a taxi/Uber will be required for an additional cost. This added about $50+tips to my costs. For that money, I would have chosen a nicer hotel from your list that included shuttle service or found an alternative altogether had I known. This is the primary reason for my low score.

No Shuttle service, but Uber picked us up .

We booked this hotel for 2 reasons. Shuttle service to and from airport, and us being a loyal Best Western customer. No shuttle to or from Airport. It cost us an additional $80 for taxis. Customer service was appalling. Still advertising that they have a shuttle. Hotel has a pool but empty. Bad choice of hotel

We ended up stuck in Ethiopia and couldn’t return for pick up time and the staff was very helpful and understanding. Our car was there for 15 days and we returned to it in the same condition as when we left. Will book here again. But, be sure to book in ParkSleepFly or the staff will be confused. Don’t forget, if traveling with more than one car, make separate bookings for each room instead of just booking two rooms on one order. It’s meant to be a car per room but I did have to pay extra because of the staff not understanding. They thought 1 order (2 rooms) meant just one car instead of 2 rooms 2 cars.

Hotel room was clean and staff were great and very helpful

We chose the Best Western Des Plaines Inn Ohare because reviews were good, and it was the best choice of the selections for Park-Sleep-Fly for the dates and length of stay that we needed. The hospitality and comfort of this hotel were excellent, and the shuttle to and from the hotel to the airport was efficient. Our room was comfortable and clean. It compares well to other hotels in this class; it’s not a resort but a pleasant stay before or after an ORD flight.

After confirming my return flight time with the hotel before departing the origin airport, I tried calling when I landed, but nobody answered. I continued calling for over two hours without an answer. During this period I also contacted their national headquarters...they also could not get through to the hotel. I was told by their headquarters to grab an Uber & then look into getting reimbursed. Sure...not going to get reimbursed by this operation, but whatever. Unfortunately this property has the uncomfortable and uncommon policy of keeping your vehicle key. It was ten below zero & I had warm weather clothes on from my departure city, so was not interested in the possibility of Uber-ing ($50 ride quoted that time of night) to a locked hotel lobby. Finally called a different Best Western (different ownership) in the area (Rosemont) & the wonderful front desk manager arranged for their driver to pick me up. Tipped him an extra $20 to stop by the Des Plaines location. Thankfully was able to retrieve my vehicle prior to an additional 5 hour drive during a winter storm. Did not receive an apology at the front desk...only told to show them my ID to get my key. The only silver lining was a very kind young lady that worked there who let me jump start my vehicle with her personal car (not sure of the name...possibly Andrea?...evening of Feb. 13th if any manager there cares to know). Aside from her...totally awful experience. Also, never received a follow up call from the national headquarters. I stay in hotels roughly 150 nights per year...never again at a Best Western. I know the location is independently operated, but would have appreciated a follow-up call from their corporate office. If you must stay at a Best Western by O'hare, please choose the Rosemont location...they seem to be guest-oriented.

The hotel clerks go above and beyond! They made a breakfast to go for ya at 4am. On return the shuttle was busy so they sent a cab to the airport for us!!

Great place, clean, quiet, and safe. The hotel is dated, yet to stay, leave your car for a week, it is perfect. Staff was friendly, attentive, and shuttle was on point.

We stayed here last year using the Park, Sleep & Fly, and it was great, so it was an easy decision to use this hotel again for this year's vacation. The first night was fine, although our early flight take away breakfast was a bottle of water (which you can't take through security) and two apples. That was odd to us, but not a big deal. The shuttle service was at both ends of our journey was terrific. We had the same driver as last year, and she is great. She was at the hotel when we were ready to leave & got to the airport quickly when we called after returning. However, there was a MAJOR snag when we returned to the hotel after a late flight, for our final night's stay. The hotel clerk only showed a reservation for a stay at the beginning of our trip, plus the parking. He had a lot of trouble getting us a room, and I believe he had to call the manager for assistance. He was not mean, but he was irritable and grouchy. Also, when we were checking out the 2nd time, I found out we'd been charged for both nights at the beginning, then also for our 2nd night at the end. The person at the desk (the manager, I think) fixed this as soon as she was aware of the problem, but it seems the employees at this hotel need additional training in how to set up the P/S/F reservations, and how to collect payment. We'd love to stay here again for P/S/F, but the problem of not having a room set aside for us on our 2nd night, made more frustrating since it was well after midnight, will definitely make us think twice. I realize this may be a problem of the hotel rather than P/S/F, but since I received this request for a review, I am providing one. I hope that you will share this info with BW Des Plaines. I would really like to be able to rely on them for future P/S/F stays. Thank you for your time.

Associate very helpful printing out boarding passes. Very clean. Responded promptly, when called, at return pickup. Shuttle driver let us out at the airport at the first door instead of the fifth door which was the door for our flight. We walked and carried the bags all the way to the fifth door instead of being dropped off at the empty curb fifth door. The shuttle driver did not provide us with a phone number card at drop off. When we returned, we had to use main reservation number to obtain the local Best Western number. We will not use the Des Plaines Best Western again.

Des Plaines Best Western- conveniently located, good service

Our stay at hotel was fine and we had no problems! The shuttle to the airport was fine with no problems. The front desk was nice enough to pack a sack with breakfast items since it was before the breakfast opened. That was awesome! The shuttle back was horrible though! We tried calling probably 8-10 times and it just rang until it hung up. Even after we reached the hotel it took 50 minutes for a taxi they sent us to arrive. We were the last ones standing there by a significant amount of time. We landed at 9 and finally got picked up at 11:20 pm. When we arrived back at hotel they didnt even extend an apology or anything.
